Marketing Lead

As the Marketing Lead for Zuhura Africa, you will take ownership of all marketing and communications efforts, ensuring that our brand message is strategically crafted and effectively delivered. You will collaborate with the Sales and Programs teams to align our marketing with key business objectives. Your responsibilities will range from overseeing high-level strategy to creating and managing content across digital channels.

We are looking for someone who’s passionate about making a real impact through marketing. Our Marketing Lead will be responsible for shaping and sharing the story of Zuhura Africa, connecting with people who care about what we do. You will have the chance to use your creativity, collaborate across teams, and make sure our brand shines in everything we do.

 

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Marketing:

  • Define and articulate Zuhura Africa’s unique brand positioning, aligning marketing efforts with the organization’s mission and values.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends and opportunities to inform strategic marketing decisions.
  • Develop and implement integrated marketing campaigns to enhance visibility and achieve organizational objectives.

Brand Management:

  • Ensure consistent branding across all communications and marketing materials.
  • Continuously develop and refine Zuhura Africa’s brand to reflect the mission and values, while ensuring high engagement.

Content Creation and Management:

  • Lead the creation and execution of content strategies that drive visibility and engagement.
  • Produce high-quality content, including blog posts, newsletters, social media updates, and visual assets.
  • Manage the editorial calendar to ensure timely content distribution.
  • Develop compelling pitch decks and presentations for stakeholders, partners, and event audiences.

Digital Marketing:

  • Oversee and manage Zuhura Africa’s social media accounts and website to ensure consistent online engagement.
  • Implement social media strategies aimed at increasing reach and engagement with our audience.
  • Monitor and analyze performance data to inform future strategies and optimize online presence.

Public Engagement & Events:

  • Organize and promote public events, campaigns, and conferences to raise awareness and build community.
  • Represent Zuhura Africa as a spokesperson at forums, events, and public platforms, sharing our mission and building relationships.
  • Manage Zuhura Africa’s booth at events, engaging attendees and fostering meaningful connections.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage the marketing and communications budget to align with organizational goals and optimize spend for maximum impact.
  • Conduct quarterly reviews to track spending and ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Oversee vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for outsourced services.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with the Sales, Programs, and Operations teams to align messaging and ensure consistency across all communication channels.
  • Support product launches, sales campaigns, and operational updates to maintain strategic alignment across departments.

Additional Responsibilities: Undertake other tasks consistent with the nature of this post as required by the company. This job description reflects the current requirements of the role and will be reviewed and amended in consultation with the postholder as duties and responsibilities evolve.

Job Conditions

  • Working Days: Four and a half days, 9 am to 5 pm Monday to Thursday, and 9 am to 1 pm on Fridays. Attendance at out-of-hours events is required, with time in lieu provided.
  • Compensation:  Gross Monthly salary of KES 100,000

Qualifications

    • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field.
    • Experience: At least 5 years of experience in marketing and communications, with a proven track record of managing successful campaigns.
    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in digital marketing, content creation, social media management, and analytics tools.
